I received a text on my computer this morning. Here is what it said:
APPLE TRANSACTION INTEGRITY REPORT
EVENT 08417 · 01 SEP 2026 · EST PAYMENT EVENT USD 902.87
A high-value payment event has been registered within the associated digital-wallet ledger.
◇ INTEGRITY STATUS TRANSACTION LOGGED
The payment record has been committed to the transaction history.
AUTHORIZATION CHECK
User recognition is required by calling Apple at +1 (833) 626-5728
RESPONSE PROTOCOL
If you recognize this activity, no action is required.
If you do not recognize it Call Apple at +1 (833) 626-5728

The person or group who sent the text apparently thinks I can be convinced that I owe the Apple company $902.87.
In fact, I do not owe Apple any money. Unfortunately, this pestering has been going on for a while.
On August 21, I got this text:
Apple Account Activity Notification
A recent payment of $947.19 has been associated with your Apple Account under reference APPLE8GDJKSJK98PAY.
If you authorized this transaction, you can disregard this notification.
If you do not recognize the payment, verify your account activity directly through Calling Apple at +1 (833) 800 0702
Before that one, a text notified me that I owed Apple $799. Earlier I had received texts notifying me I had Apple bills of more than $350 and $299.99.
Each of the texts offered a phone number to telephone an outfit described as Apple Paay — yes, with that sloppy mis-spelling. I did not make any of the suggested calls because I hadn’t bought anything from Apple this year.
In fact, I own two Apple products that I like. I bought both at retail stores, and I paid for each one before I took it home.
My response to the most recent text — the one at the top of this post — was as follows:
"This is straight-up fraud, and you scamsters damn well know it.
May you rot in hell."
It’s clear that these creeps thought they could convince me to accept their pitches as the truths. I wonder how many other suckers they are trying to swindle.
NOTE: Unfortunately, 2026 is full of this misbehavior. I’ll be sharing at least one other multi-scam story and possibly some others from persons I know.
